Fall 2020 Exhibition

At the end of 2018, I resolved to improve my painting skills by making at least one small, alla prima painting every weekend.

Most of these paintings were produced in one sitting. The idea, inspired by Carol Marine’s book Daily Painting, is to practice a lot and enjoy it by not getting too invested in getting it “right.”

All paintings on this page were on view at Eclectic Eye (242 Cooper Street, Memphis) October 17 — December 18, 2020. They are framed in black resin or wood frames with glass, cropped to show the raw edges of under-painting and floated on off-white mat.
